I'm having problems with my branded ZTE MF190 modem as it does not recognize HSPA signals anymore, so I thought of changing the firmware (debranding it) by writing an unbranded firmware to the dashboard. Click on Next and choose Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) option. On the next screen, press Next, and select the Show All Devices option. Besides, press the Have Disk button. Moreover, browse and select the ZTE USB driver setup file (.inf) from the extracted folder. Unlocking your ZTE MF190 Modem
- First download Dc Unlocker from this link here
- Get your ZTE ready for unlocking by removing the memory card if you have one in and insert an unsupported SIM card (not a sim from the network carrier)
- Plug in the ZTE modem inside your computer allow the modem’s dashboard to come up then make sure to close it
- Now unzip the file you have downloaded you can use winrar or winzip to extract it
- Now open the file inside the folder named DC Crap.exe
- on the first option select ZTE datacards, select auto detect and click search (see the picture below) it should detect your modem now
- Now on the right hand side click unlocking and click unlock
- within few seconds your modem should be unlocked and you will get a notification that your modem has been unlocked successfully

- From the message Notification Screen, tap Download.
- Tap Install Now.
- Wait as your phone restarts and updates.

- From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > About phone.
- Tap Additional system updates > Software update > Check for update.
- Wait while the device checks for updates.
- If an update is available, tap to download and install.
Issues after updating
If you experience issues after updating to the latest software version, follow these steps:
Zte Firmware Update
- Wipe your cache partition to make sure that all system files on your device are put back in order.
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons until the ZTE logo screen appears, then release.
- Press the Volume down button to highlight wipe cache partition.
- Press the Power button to select.
- Wait until the device displays 'Cache wipe complete.'
- Press the Power button to select reboot system now.
- If wiping the cache partition does not work, you may need to perform a master reset.
- From any Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset > Reset phone.
- If your phone is password protected, you'll be prompted to enter your Pattern, PIN, or Password.
- Tap Erase everything.
